I am thrilled that you are interested in becoming part of the Temple Israel community. There are so many reasons that we are proud of the congregation we have created.
Our ECC is a leading program in our area, offering a strong culture of parent engagement.
Our Hebrew school program is called Kesher: the Center For Jewish Life, and enables the exploration of each person’s evolving Jewish self, grounded in connection, community, holiness, and love.
Our Shabbat services are soulful, progressive, lively, authentic, uplifting, intimate.
Our b’nei mitzvah ceremonies are full of Jewish joy.
Our High Holy Day worship compels us to consider the state of our world, examine our own lives, and pursue teshuvah wherever possible.
Our social justice work is essential to who we are, from caring for the day-to-day needs of those close at hand to pursuing systematic justice in our wider society.
There is strong agreement among our membership that Temple Israel provides them with a sense of community and belonging. In fact, many members say that they met their closest friends through the congregation. In addition, Temple Israel has forged strong interfaith bonds through our local interfaith clergy association, interfaith adult learning, and our regional community organizing work with churches, mosques and synagogues.
I hope our congregation will become your Jewish home. I look forward to meeting you soon.
