We are an extended family with common customs, a unique history, our own language, treasured foods, and cherished sacred texts.  Also, God is part of our identity.  We believe that there is one God (or as some might say, that there is at most one God), that God chose us to form a special relationship with, and that we have a God-given mission to be a light to the nations.  That’s the “religion” aspect of Judaism that joins with our cultural affinity to form our identity as a people.
