“We need resilience amidst the adversity of daily life. As the weight of the world grows heavy, and as misfortune strikes unexpectedly, we need to draw strength from our people’s storied history.”
We need courage at a time of fear and alienation. That’s why it’s so important that we gather in great numbers, thousands of Jews proudly standing shoulder to shoulder. May the vibrancy of our congregation stir us toward bravery.
We need light to chase away the darkness. “Light is implanted within the righteous” – we know that there is light within us, but sometimes it feels buried so very deep. May this New Year help us re-kindle that eternal flame, and inspire us to embrace our mission to be a light to the world.
