Teen Opportunities
BBYO is the leading pluralistic Jewish youth organization in the world. Joining BBYO allows our teens to engage with their Judaism, grow as leaders, participate in community service, and much more. We offer a rotating slate of site-specific social justice and cultural immersion trips for our teens each year. Whether its learning about the Jewish impact in the Civil Rights Movement, welcoming the stranger or lobbying congress on important issues, you are guaranteed to both learn and have a great time! Temple Israel offers a certificate to every B’nei mitzvah toward one of our Teen Trips. Teen Trips for the 2025-2026 school year are full. We look forward to sharing the 2026-2027 opportunities soon.
Play a crucial role in Kesher by helping with the organization of projects, classroom management, and planning lessons and activities. Many of our teens have identified their time working as a madrich(a) as a highly impactful learning experience, a way to build their Jewish community, and as providing huge personal growth. Step into Jewish adulthood by exploring sacred texts and discovering fresh perspectives on Jewish tradition and culture. This includes, in 10th grade, taking part in TI’s long-standing Confirmation program, learning alongside clergy as teens deepen their personal theology and strengthen their connection to Jewish values.
