My name is Lauren Levi and I am so excited to work with Kesher this year! I live in Hamden with my wife, Erica, and our adorable cats, Chloe and Leo. I grew up in Trumbull and attended Temple B’nai Torah. I graduated from Lafayette College in 2013 and received my Masters in Elementary Education at Fairfield University in 2020. I spent the last few years teaching third grade in New Haven and preschool in Ansonia. Last year I taught second grade Kesher on Sundays and am looking forward to working with our second graders again this year. When I’m not teaching, I love gardening, hiking, crafting, cooking, and spending time with my family.
Shayna Lebowitz
Youth Engagement Specialist
Hi everyone! My name is Shayna and I’m excited to join the Kesher team as the Youth Engagement Specialist! I recently graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Linguistics and Jewish Studies. I just spent my 14th summer at Camp Laurelwood in Madison, CT where I’ve been a camper, counselor, prayer leader, programming coordinator, and now a division head for our eighth and ninth grade campers. Last year I taught as a virtual Hebrew Educator and I’m really looking forward to expanding the scope of my work at TI and taking my first steps into a career in Jewish communal work! I can’t wait to meet everyone and hopefully learn a lot from you all!
