Synaplex—Shabbat like you’ve never seen it! A Synaplex Shabbat is a special Shabbat experience at Temple Israel when we have multiple programs and services going on simultaneously in various parts of our building to bring together Jews from every age and level of observance for the purpose of celebrating Shabbat. Much like a “Cineplex” where various family members or friends can see different movies at the same theater, our “Synaplex” Shabbat allows congregants with varying interests to find programs that appeal to them here at Temple Israel, and then join together for a communal meal. Some of these programs will include prayer, some will include learning, all will be for the purpose of bringing our community together on Shabbat. Synaplex is a national program that we are proud to be participating in; our dedicated staff and lay leadership have tailored the program to make Shabbat the central address for Jewish life and community at Temple Israel. Bring your friends, bring your family, and bring an open mind to celebrate Shabbat on these four special dates:
Peri Smilow will be joining us on Friday, November 21
Peri Smilow is a nationally recognized singer/songwriter, educator and community organizer. Her music has been heard throughout the US, Canada, England, Singapore and Israel. In addition to her work as a contemporary Jewish composer and entertainer, Peri is an educational consultant specializing in non-profit management, curriculum design, community service learning and intergenerational programming.

Rick Recht is the top-touring musician in Jewish music, playing over 150 concerts a year in the United States and abroad. David Paskin, or Rabbi David as he is known by his congregants, is an accomplished spiritual leader, singer/songwriter, entertainer and award-winning Jewish educator. For more than a decade, he has served as full-time Spiritual Leader of Temple Beth Abraham in Canton, MA. His presentations have focused on prayer and spirituality, Jewish music, and formal and informal Jewish education.
